Introduction:What are the biological properties of splinters and boilies?
Each of the commercially available ingredients for carp has some characteristics that enable carp to be feeding on them. Pellets and heaven forbid readymade boilies are made out of the same food ingredients and will therefore differ in length of health. Boilies tend to be the longer lasting and must be prepared accordingly once heated. Pellets are more easily stored. In the case of pellets, the cooking increases the water content and so the potency is usually set at the point at which you would like the Semitarian or Ultra controversial sustainability pellets to be. For example there are many very profitable pellets available that contain high levels of Useful vitamin and minerals and this is very useful in the preparation of carp baits.
Pellets are great carp baits and are nutritionally balanced if prepared correctly. boil in water, fry and consume. In colder conditions this is fine but the real Chevy chase is in spring minus -25 degrees temp and this is where the big carp of a lifetime come from and I have been lucky enough to catch many this way but I am certainly not an expert!
